Our History
Lighthouse Therapeutics was founded in 2016 by Deidra Glover and Dr. Camisha Williams. As an occupational therapist and speech-language pathologist, respectively, they realized the need for a pediatric therapy clinic in the Kershaw County area after years of serving children in their natural environment. Lighthouse Therapeutics was created with the goal of providing access to occupational, physical, and speech therapies to children in one location that could accommodate and meet the needs of children in the area and surrounding communities. The inclusion of physical therapy into established occupational therapy and speech therapy practices expanded the realm of available services to children in need. Lighthouse Therapeutics serve a variety of disorders including Autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, sensory integration deficits, orthopedic impairments, feeding issues, as well as literacy based language deficits and other delays. Since opening in 2016, Lighthouse Therapeutics has grown rapidly and has relocated to a larger facility. Lighthouse Therapeutics contracts services with therapists of all disciplines to provide intense, consistent therapy in the natural environment or clinic setting that includes each patient’s family and seeks to remediate identified deficits to help children navigate their daily environments. Lighthouse Therapeutics opened a facility in Sumter in 2019 and offers parties at their Lugoff location themed "Castle of Commotion." Lighthouse Foundation is a non-profit foundation that was created in 2017 to serve the varying needs of the community. As the offerings of Lighthouse have expanded to meet the evolving needs of the community and the families served, now Dr. Glover and Dr. Williams have created Lighthouse Corporation and Development, LLC as the umbrella company for their platforms of services offered to the public. Dr. Glover and Dr. Williams serve as general partners. The partners' goals are to continue to add to these offerings so that more members of the community can access needed services and goods that are limited in rural areas. Understanding the need for access to services that will help all people achieve better outcomes across the lifespan, is at the heart of what drives the development of new services. Lighthouse Therapeutics continues to "Light the path to success!"
